Job Description

The Turn Technician prepares and maintains all outgoing and incoming equipment for new and completed rentals. This position is also responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the yard and keeps the rental equipment organized to minimize customer wait time.
Essential Functions:
- Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of systems or equipment
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software issues
- Install, configure, calibrate, and test new systems or devices
- Maintain service logs, manage inventory, and document all work
- Provide timely technical support to staff or customers
- Repair faulty components, wiring, and parts
- Follow safety protocols and comply with regulations
- Keep the work area clean and ensure proper storage of tools and equipment

Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must have good organizational and communication skills.
- Must be customer service orientated.
- Valid State-issued Driver’s License
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision – Self-motivated.
Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable.

Work Environment
- Work is primarily conducted in construction sites, equipment yards, and transportation routes.
- Regular exposure to heavy machinery and diesel-powered equipment in operation.
- Frequent outdoor work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
- Physically demanding environment with uneven terrain, dust, mud, and loud noise levels.
- Duties may involve both shop-based tasks and fieldwork, including travel to remote job sites.
- Strict adherence to safety protocols is required at all times.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection must be worn as needed.
- Must be comfortable operating around large equipment, performing tasks in confined spaces, or working from elevated positions.
- Lifting heavy components and materials is often required.
- Flexibility and adaptability are essential, as job site conditions and priorities can change rapidly.
Travel Required
- May require traveling for training classes/seminars.
- May require driving to various vendors to acquire parts for assigned repairs.
Physical Demands
- Requires a high level of physical stamina and mobility to perform duties in jobsite and yard environments.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and maneuvering of tools, chains, tarps, and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds or more, often without assistance.
- Regular bending, squatting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to secure loads, inspect vehicles, or perform minor maintenance tasks.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and working on foot, often on uneven terrain such as gravel, dirt, or pavement.
- Climbing in and out of trucks, onto trailers, or occasionally onto equipment is required.
- Must be able to work from various heights and maintain balance while performing tasks on steps, ladders, or platforms.
- Fine motor skills and good manual dexterity needed for handling controls, securing tie-downs, and completing documentation.
- Must be able to safely operate commercial vehicles and remain alert in potentially hazardous driving and yard conditions.
- Occasional pushing, pulling, and positioning of heavy materials or components may be required.
