Building Tomorrow’s Workforce Together: Highlights from the 2026 C3 Workforce Development Conference
The conversations were inspiring, the ideas were practical, and the commitment to strengthening our industry’s workforce was evident from the moment the doors opened.
On July 7, Construction Career Collaborative (C3) welcomed construction professionals, owners, educators, workforce organizations, nonprofits, government representatives, and community partners to the 2026 Workforce Development Conference at United Way Greater Houston. Together, we spent the day exploring innovative solutions to one of our industry’s most important challenges: building a stronger, safer, and more sustainable construction workforce.
From thought-provoking keynote presentations and engaging panel discussions to interactive Round Robin breakout sessions, attendees had the opportunity to learn from one another, share best practices, and build new partnerships that will continue long after the conference ended.
One of the highlights of the day was hearing from an exceptional lineup of presenters who generously shared their knowledge, experiences, and vision for the future of workforce development. Their willingness to lead honest conversations and challenge us to think differently made the conference both informative and inspiring.
We were also honored to welcome a representative from Judge Lina Hidalgo’s office and were delighted by a surprise visit from Congressman Christian Menefee, who spoke about the importance of investing in workforce development and the people who build our communities every day.
