In workforce development, we spend a lot of time talking about helping people find the right fit.
We encourage employers to identify strengths, invest in growth, and create pathways where people can succeed long term instead of simply filling positions in the short term.
At Construction Career Collaborative, we believe those same principles should apply inside our own organization too.
As C3 continues to grow and evolve, our team has taken intentional steps to better align responsibilities with individual strengths, passions, and experience. The goal is simple: position each team member where they can create the greatest impact for the industry we serve.
That shift has led to several updated roles within the C3 team.
Claudia Vega: Operations & Compliance
Anyone who has worked with Claudia already knows she brings organization, accountability, and relationship management into every room she enters.
As Operations & Compliance lead, Claudia will oversee many of the systems and processes that help C3 function effectively behind the scenes while continuing to support the compliance standards that help projects succeed.
Her ability to balance people, processes, and expectations makes her a natural fit for a role that requires both structure and collaboration.
In many ways, this role reflects what the construction industry itself depends on every day: coordination, consistency, and communication.
Diane Aguilar: Strategic Partnerships & Industry Outreach
Over the years, Diane has become deeply connected across the construction and workforce development communities throughout Greater Houston.
Through relationship building, industry engagement, fundraising, employer outreach, event development, and collaboration with community organizations, she has helped expand C3’s visibility and partnerships in ways that continue to create opportunities for both employers and future craft professionals.
Her updated focus on Strategic Partnerships & Industry Outreach allows her to spend more time building bridges between industry, education, nonprofits, workforce organizations, and community leaders.
This shift also comes at an important time for C3 as the organization prepares for several major initiatives focused on strengthening workforce connections across the industry.
C3’s upcoming Workforce Development Conference on July 7 at United Way Greater Houston will bring together employers, educators, nonprofits, workforce organizations, and industry leaders to discuss solutions, partnerships, and opportunities surrounding the future of the construction workforce.
At the same time, C3 continues expanding networking and hiring events designed to connect job seekers directly with employers, training providers, and apprenticeship opportunities. These events are helping create more accessible entry points into construction careers while giving companies direct access to emerging talent.
As workforce challenges continue to evolve, strong partnerships will remain critical to building sustainable solutions. This role is designed to strengthen those connections and help create even more pathways into construction careers.
Donnie Howard: Lead Instructor & Talent Coordinator
Training and workforce readiness remain central to C3’s mission, and Donnie’s new role reflects the importance of both.
As Lead Instructor & Talent Coordinator, Donnie will focus on helping individuals develop the skills, confidence, and industry readiness needed to pursue successful careers in construction.
Beyond instruction, the role also strengthens C3’s ability to connect trained candidates with employers seeking dependable talent. That connection between training and opportunity is one of the most important pieces of workforce development.
As C3 continues hosting hiring events and workforce initiatives, this role will help ensure participants are not only trained but also connected to real career opportunities within the industry.
The goal is not simply to prepare people for jobs. It is to help prepare them for careers with long-term potential.
Building a Stronger Team to Better Serve the Industry
The construction industry understands better than most that strong teams are built intentionally.
Success depends on putting the right people in the right roles, trusting their expertise, and creating systems that allow everyone to contribute at a high level.
That is exactly what these changes are designed to support at C3.
As we continue working toward a safer, skilled, and sustainable craft workforce, we remain committed to growing not only our programs and partnerships but also the internal structure that allows us to serve the industry effectively.
Because workforce development is not only about helping craft professionals find the right opportunities.
It is also about creating organizations where people themselves are positioned to thrive.
