At Construction Career Collaborative (C3), we know that building a sustainable craft workforce takes more than one organization. It takes a community of partners who believe in the same vision: a safe, skilled, and sustainable workforce for the commercial construction industry.
As we reflect on recent months, our team is filled with gratitude for the many organizations that have opened their doors to collaborate, invite us to participate, and amplify our shared mission to strengthen Houston’s construction workforce.
A Year of Partnership and Purpose
This year, C3 has been fortunate to partner and participate alongside organizations that share our passion for workforce development, safety, and education. From AGC Houston’s industry forums and workforce initiatives, to the Construction Industry Education Foundation (CIEF) and their tireless work inspiring the next generation of builders, to Goodwill Houston and their dedication to connecting training with opportunity, each partnership has helped us move the industry forward.
We’ve also been honored to collaborate with go2work, an emerging leader in connecting qualified job seekers to construction employers, American Subcontractors Association (ASA) Houston Chapter, a strong voice for trade partners and subcontractors, and Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Greater Houston, who continually promote innovation and education across the industry.
Every collaboration reminds us that our mission is not achieved in isolation. It grows stronger when our industry comes together to create real opportunities for people and meaningful change for companies.
Thank You for the Invitations and Collaboration
C3 extends heartfelt thanks to all our partners who have invited us to participate in events, panels, and workforce conversations throughout the year. Whether we’ve joined to share insight on craft training and compliance, discuss solutions to workforce shortages, or connect employers to emerging talent, these invitations have allowed us to be part of something bigger: an industry-wide commitment to progress.
We are especially grateful for:
- AGC Houston – for elevating conversations around safety, workforce culture, and collaboration.
- CIEF – for inspiring students to explore career pathways in construction.
- Goodwill Houston – for the partnership that connects individuals in training to career opportunities.
- go2work – for creating innovative spaces where employers and job seekers can connect directly.
- ASA Houston – for championing subcontractors and promoting professionalism across the trades.
- ABC Greater Houston – for fostering education, training, and advocacy that strengthen the construction community.
We also know that this list does not capture everyone who has worked alongside C3, and that is a good problem to have. We are deeply grateful for every partner, organization, and leader who shares our belief that collaboration drives progress. If we have missed anyone by name, please know that your contributions are seen, valued, and appreciated.
Looking Ahead
As we look toward the coming year, C3 remains committed to deepening these partnerships and forming new ones. We invite contractors, owners, educators, and community organizations to join us in creating a culture where every craft professional has access to safe workplaces, meaningful training, and long-term career opportunities.
Together, we’re not just building projects. We’re building people, communities, and the foundation for the future of construction in Houston.
A Call to Collaborate for Greater Impact
As we continue this important work, C3 encourages all of our industry partners to keep collaborating to promote the professions within the skilled trades. By sharing consistent messages about the value, opportunity, and stability that careers in commercial construction offer, we can amplify our collective impact on addressing the workforce shortage.
To help spark even greater alignment, C3 is exploring the idea of hosting a series of collaborative and ongoing industry marketing committee meetings or town halls, where we can share ideas, develop unified messaging, and work together to reach future craft professionals, including students, families, and others seeking opportunities to enter the trades, regardless of background, experience, or employment status.
If you’re interested in joining this conversation or being part of the planning process, let us know. Together, we can build awareness, inspire action, and attract the next generation of craft professionals to our industry.
A Final Note of Thanks
To all who have collaborated with C3, invited us to speak, or partnered to make an impact, thank you. Your leadership and generosity make this work possible.
